By the 16th January, the reservoir had been reduced to 10,163,000 gallons and, assuming that the steps just described would have the effect of reducing the late depletion, which had hitherto amounted to over 13,000,000 gallons per week, to 2,000,000 gallons, this quantity was thought sufficient to last until the middle of April.
As the rainy season does not usually set in before the middle of May, occasionally later, it was thought prudent to supplement this supply from other sources and, on the 12th February, His Excellency the Officer Administering Government appointed a committee...
